A con­stant flow of fresh ideas and in­nov­a­tions as well as bound­less dy­nam­ism and com­mit­ment have driv­en GERRY WEBER's evol­u­tion from a man­u­fac­turer of ladies' trousers to an in­ter­na­tion­al ex­pert for fem­in­ine fash­ion over the past four dec­ades. Today GERRY WEBER is one of the best known Ger­man fash­ion and life­style com­pan­ies.

  • 2017

    FOUNDATION OF E-GERRY WEBER DIGITAL GMBH

    GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG sets up a di­git­al com­pany to lay the basis for a cre­at­ive ideas hub with the aim of con­tinu­ously de­vel­op­ing new di­git­al solu­tions for the op­tim­isa­tion of busi­ness pro­cesses.

  • GERRY WEBER OBTAINS GOTS CERTIFICATION

    The GOT stand­ard guar­an­tees the use of cot­ton from con­trolled or­gan­ic cul­tiv­a­tion. The cer­ti­fic­a­tion cov­ers the en­tire value chain.

  • PAPER INSTEAD OF PLASTICS

    GERRY WEBER in­tro­duces FSC-cer­ti­fied paper bags. The pro­ceeds from the sale of the bags are donated to “Viva con Agua”, a non-profit or­gan­isa­tion that sup­ports drink­ing water pro­jects through­out the world. The first dona­tion in the amount of € 35,000 is paid to “Viva con Agua” in March 2017.

    LAUNCH OF THE NEW TALKABOUT BRAND

    Fash­ion brings people to­geth­er, fash­ion is com­mu­nic­a­tion. Our new talk­about brand puts fash­ion state­ments and in­di­vidu­al looks centre-stage. El­eg­ant and easy-going at the same time, talk­about has its fin­ger on the pulse. The brand stands for a mod­ern life­style that is not defined by age but by at­ti­tude and, most im­port­antly, by a love for high-qual­ity ma­ter­i­als and un­con­ven­tion­al, sur­pris­ing cuts.

    OPENING OF LOGISTIC CENTRE

    The new, fully auto­mated GERRY WEBER lo­gist­ic centre is taken into op­er­a­tion. With nearly all pro­cesses based on RFID tech­no­logy, it is con­sidered one of the most ad­vanced lo­gist­ic centres in the fash­ion in­dustry. Up to 37 mil­lion items can be handled by the centre each year.

  • ELECTION OF NEW SUPERVISORY BOARD

    The GERRY WEBER AGM elects the six share­hold­er rep­res­ent­at­ives of the new Su­per­vis­ory Board, which is ex­pan­ded from six to twelve mem­bers due to new stat­utory pro­vi­sions. Six em­ploy­ee rep­res­ent­at­ives were pre­vi­ously elec­ted in Febru­ary 2015 in ac­cord­ance with the ap­plic­able reg­u­la­tions.

    The Su­per­vis­ory Board of GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG ap­points Ralf Weber, son of com­pany founder Ger­hard Weber, Chair­man of the Managing Board. The de­cision un­der­pins the founder fam­il­ies’ clear com­mit­ment to the com­pany as well as the long-term con­tinu­ity in steer­ing the Group.

    TAKEOVER OF HALLHUBER

    In its first-ever ac­quis­i­tion of an in­de­pend­ent brand, GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG takes over Mu­nich-based fash­ion com­pany HALLHUBER. The ad­di­tion of two com­ple­ment­ary brands, “HALLHUBER“ and “HALLHUBER Donna“, to the brand port­fo­lio al­lows GERRY WEBER to tap into a new, young­er tar­get group.

  • KIDS WORLD DAY NURSERY

    GERRY WEBER cel­eb­rates the in­aug­ur­a­tion of the KIDS WORLD day nurs­ery at the com­pany’s headquar­ters. The day nurs­ery of­fers room for up to 95 chil­dren aged 4 months to school age.

    RFID

    GERRY WEBER is the first fash­ion com­pany to in­tro­duce RFID to im­prove lo­gist­ic and re­tail pro­cesses and to pre­vent shoplift­ing – today, RFID is the basis for the fully auto­mated lo­gist­ic centre.

    HOUSE OF GERRY WEBER

    The first HOUSE of GERRY WEBER, a multi label store selling the GERRY WEBER and TAIFUN brands was opened in Biele­feld.

    SAMOON

    The new SAMOON brand for plus sizes was presen­ted to a trade audi­ence for the first time in Janu­ary. SAMOON stands for cas­u­al, self-con­fid­ent fash­ion for women wear­ing plus sizes and un­der­scores their fem­in­in­ity with trendy cuts, ex­quis­ite ma­ter­i­als and ex­cel­lent fits. Skil­ful in­ter­pret­a­tions of cur­rent fash­ion trends en­sure that fem­in­ine curves are shown in the best pos­sible light, res­ult­ing in a self-as­sured body image.

    GERRY WEBER OPEN

    The GERRY WEBER OPEN is the largest ATP tour­na­ment and the only lawn ten­nis tour­na­ment in Ger­many. Launched as an ATP 250 tour­na­ment in 1993, it be­came part of the ex­clus­ive ATP 500 series in 2015. The event is broad­cast by Ger­many’s ZDF sta­tion as well as in­ter­na­tion­al TV sta­tions in over 130 coun­tries world­wide and thus makes a sig­ni­fic­ant con­tri­bu­tion to in­creas­ing the vis­ib­il­ity of the GERRY WEBER brand.

    Con­ver­sion of Hatex KG into GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG and list­ing at the Frank­furt Stock Ex­change in Octo­ber 1989.

  • TAIFUN

    Launch of the young­er TAIFUN brand. TAIFUN stands for in­ter­na­tion­al and urban fash­ion which is trend-ori­ented and suit­able for busi­ness at the same time – al­ways with a fem­in­ine touch.

    THE GERRY WEBER BRAND

    The GERRY WEBER brand name was cre­ated and trade­marked world­wide. A spon­sor­ing con­tract was signed with Stef­fi Graf who was 17 years old at that time. Her un­par­alleled in­ter­na­tion­al ca­reer quickly el­ev­ated the pub­lic pro­file of GERRY WEBER.

    FOUNDATION OF HATEX KG

    On 1 March Ger­hard Weber and Udo Hardieck es­tab­lish Hatex KG in Halle/West­phalia. The com­pany makes and mar­kets ladies’ trousers. Its present-day suc­cessor, GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG, has grown into an in­ter­na­tion­al fash­ion and life­style com­pany.
