PAPER INSTEAD OF PLASTICS
GERRY WEBER introduces FSC-certified paper bags. The proceeds from the sale of the bags are donated to “Viva con Agua”, a non-profit organisation that supports drinking water projects throughout the world. OPENING OF LOGISTIC CENTRE

The GERRY WEBER AGM elects the six shareholder representatives of the new Supervisory Board, which is expanded from six to twelve members due to new statutory provisions. In February GERRY WEBER welcomed the first customers to HALLE 29. The company’s exclusive showroom complex is located in Düsseldorf’s buzzing Unternehmerstadt district.
HOUSE OF GERRY WEBER
The first HOUSE of GERRY WEBER, a multi label store selling the GERRY WEBER and TAIFUN brands was opened in Bielefeld.
The new SAMOON brand for plus sizes was presented to a trade audience for the first time in January. SAMOON stands for casual, self-confident fashion for women wearing plus sizes and underscores their femininity with trendy cuts, exquisite materials and excellent fits. Skilful interpretations of current fashion trends ensure that feminine curves are shown in the best possible light, resulting in a self-assured body image.
GERRY WEBER OPEN
The GERRY WEBER OPEN is the largest ATP tournament and the only lawn tennis tournament in Germany. Launched as an ATP 250 tournament in 1993, it became part of the exclusive ATP 500 series in 2015. The event is broadcast by Germany’s ZDF station as well as international TV stations in over 130 countries worldwide and thus makes a significant contribution to increasing the visibility of the GERRY WEBER brand.

Launch of the younger TAIFUN brand. TAIFUN stands for international and urban fashion which is trend-oriented and suitable for business at the same time – always with a feminine touch.
THE GERRY WEBER BRAND
The GERRY WEBER brand name was created and trademarked worldwide. A sponsoring contract was signed with Steffi Graf who was 17 years old at that time. Her unparalleled international career quickly elevated the public profile of GERRY WEBER.
FOUNDATION OF HATEX KG
On 1 March Gerhard Weber and Udo Hardieck establish Hatex KG in Halle/Westphalia. The company makes and markets ladies’ trousers. Its present-day successor, GERRY WEBER International AG, has grown into an international fashion and lifestyle company.
