Today GERRY WEBER is one of the best known German fashion and lifestyle companies.

  • 2017

    FOUNDATION OF E-GERRY WEBER DIGITAL GMBH

    GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG sets up a digital company to lay the basis for a creative ideas hub with the aim of con­tinu­ously de­vel­op­ing new digital solutions for the op­tim­isa­tion of business processes.

  • GERRY WEBER OBTAINS GOTS CERTIFICATION

    The GOT standard guar­an­tees the use of cotton from con­trolled organic cul­tiv­a­tion. The cer­ti­fic­a­tion covers the entire value chain.

  • PAPER INSTEAD OF PLASTICS

    GERRY WEBER in­tro­duces FSC-certified paper bags. The proceeds from the sale of the bags are donated to “Viva con Agua”, a non-profit or­gan­isa­tion that supports drinking water projects through­out the world. The first donation in the amount of € 35,000 is paid to “Viva con Agua” in March 2017.

    LAUNCH OF THE NEW TALKABOUT BRAND

    Fashion brings people together, fashion is com­mu­nic­a­tion. Our new talkabout brand puts fashion state­ments and in­di­vidu­al looks centre-stage. Elegant and easy-going at the same time, talkabout has its finger on the pulse. The brand stands for a modern lifestyle that is not defined by age but by attitude and, most im­port­antly, by a love for high-quality materials and un­con­ven­tion­al, sur­pris­ing cuts.

    OPENING OF LOGISTIC CENTRE

    The new, fully automated GERRY WEBER logistic centre is taken into operation. With nearly all processes based on RFID tech­no­logy, it is con­sidered one of the most advanced logistic centres in the fashion industry. Up to 37 million items can be handled by the centre each year.

  • ELECTION OF NEW SUPERVISORY BOARD

    The GERRY WEBER AGM elects the six share­hold­er rep­res­ent­at­ives of the new Su­per­vis­ory Board, which is expanded from six to twelve members due to new statutory pro­vi­sions. Six employee rep­res­ent­at­ives were pre­vi­ously elected in February 2015 in ac­cord­ance with the ap­plic­able reg­u­la­tions.

    The Su­per­vis­ory Board of GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG appoints Ralf Weber, son of company founder Gerhard Weber, Chairman of the Managing Board. The decision underpins the founder families’ clear com­mit­ment to the company as well as the long-term con­tinu­ity in steering the Group.

    TAKEOVER OF HALLHUBER

    In its first-ever ac­quis­i­tion of an in­de­pend­ent brand, GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG takes over Munich-based fashion company HALLHUBER. The addition of two com­ple­ment­ary brands, “HALLHUBER“ and “HALLHUBER Donna“, to the brand portfolio allows GERRY WEBER to tap into a new, younger target group.

    GERRY WEBER cel­eb­rates the in­aug­ur­a­tion of the KIDS WORLD day nursery at the company’s headquar­ters. The day nursery offers room for up to 95 children aged 4 months to school age.

    RFID

    GERRY WEBER is the first fashion company to introduce RFID to improve logistic and retail processes and to prevent shoplift­ing – today, RFID is the basis for the fully automated logistic centre.

    In February GERRY WEBER welcomed the first customers to HALLE 29. The company’s exclusive showroom complex is located in Düs­sel­dorf’s buzzing Un­ternehmer­stadt district.

    HOUSE OF GERRY WEBER

    The first HOUSE of GERRY WEBER, a multi label store selling the GERRY WEBER and TAIFUN brands was opened in Bielefeld.

    SAMOON

    The new SAMOON brand for plus sizes was presented to a trade audience for the first time in January. SAMOON stands for casual, self-confident fashion for women wearing plus sizes and un­der­scores their fem­in­in­ity with trendy cuts, exquisite materials and excellent fits. Skilful in­ter­pret­a­tions of current fashion trends ensure that feminine curves are shown in the best possible light, resulting in a self-assured body image.

    GERRY WEBER OPEN

    The GERRY WEBER OPEN is the largest ATP tour­na­ment and the only lawn tennis tour­na­ment in Germany. Launched as an ATP 250 tour­na­ment in 1993, it became part of the exclusive ATP 500 series in 2015. The event is broadcast by Germany’s ZDF station as well as in­ter­na­tion­al TV stations in over 130 countries worldwide and thus makes a sig­ni­fic­ant con­tri­bu­tion to in­creas­ing the vis­ib­il­ity of the GERRY WEBER brand.

    IPO

    Con­ver­sion of Hatex KG into GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG and listing at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in October 1989.

  • TAIFUN

    Launch of the younger TAIFUN brand. TAIFUN stands for in­ter­na­tion­al and urban fashion which is trend-oriented and suitable for business at the same time – always with a feminine touch.

  • 1986

    THE GERRY WEBER BRAND

    The GERRY WEBER brand name was created and trade­marked worldwide. A spon­sor­ing contract was signed with Steffi Graf who was 17 years old at that time. Her un­par­alleled in­ter­na­tion­al career quickly elevated the public profile of GERRY WEBER.

  • 1973

    FOUNDATION OF HATEX KG

    On 1 March Gerhard Weber and Udo Hardieck establish Hatex KG in Halle/West­phalia. The company makes and markets ladies’ trousers. Its present-day successor, GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG, has grown into an in­ter­na­tion­al fashion and lifestyle company.
