    STARTING A NEW FUTURE

    GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG succeeds in re­struc­tur­ing, thus securing a new start. Thanks to extensive re­struc­tur­ing measures, the Group was able to go through the in­solv­ency pro­ceed­ings in record time on its own behalf, suc­cess­fully com­plet­ing the process on December 31, 2019.

  • IN­SOLV­ENCY PLAN ACCEPTED BY CREDITORS

    GERRY WEBER’s creditors accepted the bank­ruptcy plan by a large majority, thereby clearing the way for im­ple­ment­a­tion of the future concept. Apart from the financial re­struc­tur­ing of the fashion company, this was also aimed at con­tinu­ing the op­er­a­tion­al re­struc­tur­ing and re­pos­i­tion­ing process that had begun.

    GERRY WEBER in­tro­duces FSC-certified paper bags. The proceeds from the sale of the bags will go to the aid or­gan­iz­a­tion “Viva con Aqua”, which supports drinking water projects worldwide. In March 2017, a donation of € 35,000 had already been made to “Viva con Agua”.

    OPENING OF LOGISTIC CENTRE

    The fully automated new GERRY WEBER logistics center has gone into operation. It is con­sidered one of the most modern logistics centers in the fashion industry, the processes of which are almost entirely based on RFID. The handling volume is up to 37 million articles a year.

    GERRY WEBER has been welcoming customers to “HALLE 29”, its own exclusive showroom complex in the business city of Düs­sel­dorf, since February. Since the bank­ruptcy pro­ceed­ings under self-ad­min­is­tra­tion in 2019, GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG is no longer the owner of the property but still uses it as a showroom.

    Opening of the first self-managed “HOUSE of GERRY WEBER”, a multi-brand store in Bielefeld with the GERRY WEBER and TAIFUN brands.

    SAMOON

    The new SAMOON brand for plus sizes will be presented to spe­cial­ist dealers for the first time in January. SAMOON stands for casual, confident fashion for plus-size women. Trendy cuts, soph­ist­ic­ated materials and excellent fits highlight the fem­in­in­ity of the wearer. The perfect in­ter­pret­a­tion of current trends puts feminine curves in the right light and ensures a new, self-confident body sensation.

    GERRY WEBER OPEN

    The GERRY WEBER OPEN (Noventi Open since 2019) is the largest ATP tennis tour­na­ment and the only lawn tennis tour­na­ment in Germany. In 1993 the turf event cel­eb­rated its premiere as a 250 tour­na­ment. Since 2015 it has been part of the exclusive ATP 500 series. The event will be broadcast by the ZDF (“Channel 2”) broad­cast­ing company and in­ter­na­tion­al tele­vi­sion companies in more than 130 countries worldwide, thus making a sig­ni­fic­ant con­tri­bu­tion to raising the profile of the GERRY WEBER brand.

    IPO

    Trans­form­a­tion of Hatex KG into GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG and listing on the Frankfurt stock exchange in October 1989.

  • TAIFUN

    Launch of the younger brand TAIFUN. TAIFUN stands for in­ter­na­tion­al and urban fashion that is trend-oriented and at the same time suitable for business – always with a “feminine touch”.

  • 1986

    THE GERRY WEBER BRAND

    The GERRY WEBER brand name is created and protected worldwide. A spon­sor­ship contract is signed with the then 17-year-old Steffi Graf. Her un­pre­ced­en­ted global career rapidly increases awareness of the GERRY WEBER fashion brand.

    FOUND­A­TION OF HATEX KG

    On March 1st, Gerhard Weber and Udo Hardieck founded Hatex KG, based in Halle / West­phalia, ori­gin­ally for the man­u­fac­ture and sale of women&’s trousers. Today, the successor company, GERRY WEBER In­ter­na­tion­al AG, is an in­ter­na­tion­al fashion and lifestyle group.
