The past few months have been challenging for all of us: Without it being our own fault, and as many other companies in the fashion industry as well as in other sectors, GERRY WEBER is facing crisis due to the corona pandemic. In order to tackle this unprecedented challenge, we must act together and combine our strengths, on a societal level as well as at GERRY WEBER, in order to limit the impact of the coronavirus on our health and our company to a minimum.
At GERRY WEBER, we have reacted promptly and developed a new future concept for our company in March already. This concept is being implemented now and provides a sustainable foundation for operations even against the backdrop of the corona crisis. Thanks to our new concept, GERRY WEBER has been successfully refinanced, possesses sleek and effective structures and can fully concentrate on its core product competences – quality and cut. Besides, sustainability plays an integral part in all areas of operations and is continuously expanded: the selection of materials and the constant evaluation of the entire supply chain, as well as the reduction of the number of products, collections and delivery dates all add to this.
To deal with the daily changing issues of the corona pandemic as best as possible, we have set up a “coronavirus” task force, whose members are now contributing their expertise and experience to maintain all vital structures during this crisis and to be available as contact persons.
Despite all our coming closer together to cope with the current situation, we have to keep our distance physically: the part of our workforce, able to work remotely is now in home offices. All employees who have to be on site are trying to keep the recommended minimum distance by spreading across the available spaces. At our stores, we responsibly implement all hygiene regulations because only if we act responsibly, this regained freedom can be a success.
