The past few months have been chal­len­ging for all of us: Without it being our own fault, and as many other companies in the fashion industry as well as in other sectors, GERRY WEBER is facing crisis due to the corona pandemic. In order to tackle this un­pre­ced­en­ted challenge, we must act together and combine our strengths, on a societal level as well as at GERRY WEBER, in order to limit the impact of the coronavir­us on our health and our company to a minimum.

At GERRY WEBER, we have reacted promptly and developed a new future concept for our company in March already. This concept is being im­ple­men­ted now and provides a sus­tain­able found­a­tion for op­er­a­tions even against the backdrop of the corona crisis. Thanks to our new concept, GERRY WEBER has been suc­cess­fully re­fin­anced, possesses sleek and effective struc­tures and can fully con­cen­trate on its core product com­pet­ences – quality and cut. Besides, sus­tain­ab­il­ity plays an integral part in all areas of op­er­a­tions and is con­tinu­ously expanded: the selection of materials and the constant eval­u­ation of the entire supply chain, as well as the reduction of the number of products, col­lec­tions and delivery dates all add to this.

To deal with the daily changing issues of the corona pandemic as best as possible, we have set up a “coronavir­us” task force, whose members are now con­trib­ut­ing their expertise and ex­per­i­ence to maintain all vital struc­tures during this crisis and to be available as contact persons.

Despite all our coming closer together to cope with the current situation, we have to keep our distance phys­ic­ally: the part of our workforce, able to work remotely is now in home offices. All employees who have to be on site are trying to keep the re­com­men­ded minimum distance by spreading across the available spaces. At our stores, we re­spons­ibly implement all hygiene reg­u­la­tions because only if we act re­spons­ibly, this regained freedom can be a success.
